Important Information for Scuba Divers

Last substantial work? In content not sizeIf you are familiar with his work, however, you will find all the usual reasons for loving the book. An example of an unforgettable image: "Serpent may be a word so drawn out that it cannot help crawling along its own shadow".
His look at death and freedom is etched in thought provoking images of frail birds that provokes a deep melancholy, an emotional thread much stronger than in his other works.
There is a mention of Auschwitz as a formative moment for those living in the second half of the twentieth century, but the Holocaust does not inform the whole work as it does in the Book of Questions. Rather, these aphorisms reflect on the inevitable, individual death in the face of the only truth known to us - Unknowability.
An absolutely brilliant book that marketed as his "last substantial work" reminds one how great a writer was lost in his death.

An excellent book on the art of disguise! The thing that I liked most about this book is that it focuses more on the mental side of disguise, as instead of just how to change your appearance using make-up etc.(although this is covered in detail) Simply putting on a wig, some make-up and some old clothes will not make the grade in the real world. This book teaches you how to think like someone else, so that even your own family won't be able to recognise you.
I urge you to buy this book if you have any interest in the covert world, or if you just like a good read. With this book and "Methods of Disguise" by John Sample, you'll be able to disapear at will.

Comprehensive and Highly Visual

The Best Commentary on the Epistles of JohnThe only fault that perhaps is in this work, is that Hiebert seems to stumble over 1 John 1. As can be seen, this chapter helps to illustrate Jesus Christ as God (i.e. the Word, cf. John 1:1), and is used to bring people to understand Christ's work in the Test's of Life (as is the theme of 1 John). Beyond that issue, which is minor to say the least), this is an excellent commentary.
If you can have only one commentary on the Johannine epistles, let this be the one (Donald W. Burdick's The Letters of John the Apostle, is second best. Unfortunately it is out of print).
